THE BO BARTLETT CENTER

Home of The Scarborough Collection (14 paintings by Bartlett), the Bo Bartlett Center at Columbus State University is a museum which offers visitors an interactive and educational experience. Designed by the famous architect Tom Kundig, this center sits impressively on the banks of the Chattahoochee River where Barlett grew up. The Bo Barlet Center includes more than just a gallery; it also provides a dynamic creative laboratory that encompasses experimental arts and a community center.

THE NATIONAL INFANTRY MUSEUM & SOLDIER CENTER

The National Infantry Museum & Soldier Center (NIMSC) is one of the greatest military attractions in the nation. It offers museum galleries, a simulation center, a restaurant, a large screen theatre, Global War on Terrorism and Vietnam memorials, and a WWII company street. Formally partnered with the U.S. Army, the museum honors the values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage throughout all 190,000 square feet of galleries on display inside.

Voted the Best Free Museum in America by USA Today, The National Infantry Museum & Soldier Center is an impressive visit for children and adults of any age.

NATIONAL CIVIL WAR NAVAL MUSEUM

Housing the largest surviving Confederate warship, the wreckage of the CSS Chattahoochee, a USS Hartford replica, and more, the National Civil War Naval Museum is a bucket-list worthy visit. If that isn’t enough, this museum displays the largest collection of Civil War Naval-related flags in the country, exhibiting various fort, ship, and signal flags. As the museum walks visitors through a timeline of the war, rare and valuable artifacts from the Civil War are also highlighted.

Depending on the day, the museum also hosts live history events, tours, cannon firings, weapon demonstrations, history projects and more. Telling the story of the Civil War navies, the National Civil War Naval Museum connects visitors with the past in an exciting and engaging way.

COLUMBUS MUSEUM

Founded in 1953, The Columbus Museum is one of the largest museums in the Southeast and is unique for its dual concentration on American art and regional history -- displayed in its permanent collection of more than 10,000 objects, temporary exhibitions, and educational programs. The Museum grounds include the historic Bradley-Olmsted Garden for the community to enjoy.

With families in mind, The Columbus Museum has an interactive gallery, Transformations, made just for kids to put their active brains and bodies to work as they create their own art and explore history. As partners of the Muscogee County School District, the Museum delivers engaging educational experiences not only for MCSD students but for all families in the Chattahoochee Valley.
