Heart and Stroke Ball

The 2017 Heart and Stroke Benefit took on a new look with an Iron Chef type competition as “Flavors From The Heart” on Friday, February 10 at the RiverMill Event Centre. The benefit was sponsored by St. Francis Heart Hospital, Emory Healthcare, Columbus Regional Health, Southeaster Cardiology, Aflac, Char-Broil, Columbus Cardiology Associates, Georgia Power, TSYS, Synovus, CB&T, and WRBL.

Three teams competed: Team 1 – Chef Kaimana Chee with local Sous Chefs Dr. Vik Chhokar, Mary Roddenbery, and Katie Waldrep; Team 2 – Chef Dr. Frank Lipman with local Sous Chefs Courtney Amos, Janice Lipman, and Dr. Susie Westerlund; and Team 3 – Chef Landon Thompson with local Sous Chefs Cosby Cartledge, Pierce Miller, and Sally Turner. Michael Blair served as Emcee and Judges were Jay Alexander, Oliva Blanchard, Dr. Linda Hadley, Bob Jeswald, and Chef Jamie Keating.
