From a young age, Megan Breimann knew she wanted a white house after watching the 90’s classic ‘Father of the Bride’, and in October of 2016, her dream became a reality. Megan and her husband Blake were inspired to build their home after driving through the newly constructed Old Town development in North Columbus. The couple was not looking to build a home at the time, but fell in love with the convenience and community of the fresh neighborhood. With help from Chris Jones, of CPJ Custom Homes, they combined two suggested floor plans to complete the striking white structure.

The beautiful home boasts five bedrooms and five and a half baths. The couple says they were met with many decisions throughout the building process and relied on help from Megan’s mother (who has been in the design business for twenty years and works at Valley Fabrics in Columbus), and interior home photos for inspiration. The house carries a comfortable, livedin feeling, with a character you typically find in older homes. Features, such as transoms over entryways, exposed brick and shiplap walls, and a neutral color palette accentuate this essence, and create a traditional farmhouse home on the green of Old Town.

The traditional farmhouse home is located in Old Town, a Southern Living Inspired Community developed by the Woodruff Property Management Company. The exterior creamy white paint color by Sherwin Williams and black shutters give the home a classical look. The home features a sprawling, green back yard and patio area. Fit with a patio table by Summer Classics, the family has an area for entertaining and relaxing outdoors. The outdoor spaces combine simple, but elegant landscaping features such as boxwoods, limelight hydrangeas, and autumn ferns. More intricate landscaping details surround the house, which include a magnolia and rose trellis over the garage. Blake collaborated with Aaron Land of A & D Metal Works Inc. and Gary Gullate of Gullate Landscape Architecture to bring the beautiful outdoor areas to life. The outdoor spaces are maintained by Grow Landscaping.
